Raiden Day ... ...

When it comes to Metal Gear Solid, I'm only more familiar with Snake but I don't remember Raiden. Quick search on Wiki and I realised; I don't know him at all because he was featured in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty which I didn't play.

Further read has interesting facts as follows which are extracted from Wiki
According to series creator Hideo Kojima, the decision to make a new character replace Solid Snake for most of Metal Gear Solid 2 stemmed from the developer's desire to develop Snake from a third-person perspective instead. Kojima also stated that Raiden's character and its perception by the audience were important to the overall feel of the story. The idea of having a second main character was inspired by the Sherlock Holmes short stories and novels in which the narrator was not the title character, but his friend Dr. Watson. Kojima affirmed that Snake was the game's protagonist instead of Raiden. Yoshikazu Matsuhana, assistant director for the project, was uncertain about this decision; he considered Raiden a "weak-looking character", but decided to follow Kojima. The codename "Raiden" was based on a historical combat aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service, the Mitsubishi J2M Raiden. It was initially planned to be written in katakana as "ライデン", but was changed to the kanji form "雷電" because of the original resemblance to Bin Laden's "Laden" in katanana, "ラーディン".[4] The relationship between Raiden and Rosemary was inspired by Kojima's own experiences; their names, Jack and Rose, are a reference to characters in the film Titanic.Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2 is considered to be a representation of the player through the experiences between the player and the character during the game.

Anyway, I followed my philosophy of toy purchase, I bought a Play Arts Kai (Sons of Liberty) and Kaiyodo's Metal Gear Rising Vengence.

Let's start with Play Arts Kai. Well, this guy is really a pretty boy and he has such a K-Pop star look.

Raiden here dons a sneaking suit known as Skull Suit and is armed with Katana blade and SOCOM MK23. His suit comes with a diver Mask and I think I prefer him this way.

Next, we have Kaiyodo's Raiden and yes it is much smaller but articulation is so much better.

This suit that he has is very different from the Skull Suit as this is an enhanced cyborg body which is biomechanical with muscles being visible on the suit.

The visor below when not activated is visible on both side of Raiden's head as seen above. The irritating bit is that they come off very easily and I eventually lost the right side.

This version of Raiden wields only a blade and a dagger. and has a very high tech sheath that is attached to the suit.

The revoltech joint allows the sheath to move to allow quick withdrawal of the blade and dagger.

The set comes with a watermelon and yes, it splits into half.

Bit of fun with bobble head version.

At this juncture, I like to feature one of the 2 things collectors pay attention to; display stands. This is from ..... can't remember except for the fact it's not too expensive.

I'm pretty sure you would have noticed 2 things here. One, the right side of unactivated visor is missing as mentioned earlier and that the eyeball can move and it's red as opposed to the blue one earlier.

I noticed that the right hip placement on your revoltech fig is a bit off... it seems to br protruding out more compared to the right side, making the stance a bit uneven and leaving a gap between the pelvis/crotch and the right thigh, while the left side is snug and free of gaps... Is this a defect? Can it be fixed? I seem to have the same problem with my figure too...

I didn't quite noticed it but now that you've mentioned; I see the gap. I don't think it's a defect and probably you can remove the revol joints and cut it shorter but I don't recommend that though. Actually many at times the joints needed some rotation to achieve desirable poses
